Beam Machine Interactions (BMI)

The BMI section is in charge of beam-machine interaction studies for all CERN accelerators and future accelerator projects, quantifying through particle shower simulations the impact of different kinds of beam losses on the equipment and evaluating their implications for operation.

Lasers and Photocathodes (LP)

The LP section is responsible for laser installations and optical beam lines used to produce charged particle beams in the CERN accelerators complex and research facilities.

Radioactive Beam Sources (RBS)

The RBS section is responsible for the fabrication of the target and ion source units dedicated to the production of radioactive ion beams required for the physics programme of ISOLDE and of MEDICIS.

Targets, Collimators and Dumps (TCD)
